Leaf Leather comes in a rich reddish-brown with black, or a light gray, which turns to a golden tan over time. Leaf Leather products are made in the U.S.A. About the Artist:The story began in upstate New York, where C.L. Whiting developed a love for nature and a passion for detail. While she was working part-time at a small leather shop to pay her college tuition, she discovered the ability to reproduce in detail a series of tools in the shape of leaves. She withdrew from collge and spent years developing more than 5,000 different leaf patterns. Like an artist painting a picture, an entire hide is tooled creating an original work of art. With her great respect for nature and her acquired knowledge of leatherwork, C.L. Whiting has personally trained several skilled craftspeople to help with the cutting, sewing and finishing touches on her handbags and accessories. This enables her to create more of the beautiful handtooled hides, which are then made into finely detailed, meticulously finished leather goods. These original "works of art in leather" are sought by fine gift stores, collectors and noteable art galleries across the country. |
