Let your inner child loose in this explorative 6-week class with PA Artist Cheryl Robertson. You’ll be introduced to a variety of artistic media and create an art journal with your new designs, illustrations, and expressions that you can take home with you and continue to embellish long after the 6 weeks are over. The best part? This class focuses on the process of creating rather than the final product. There are no rules! Art journaling eases stress by getting the chaos out of your head and onto the paper as you cut, paste, paint, and draw. If you’re new to creating, this is a perfect, stress-free introduction; if you’re a seasoned artist, this course may be the impetus to let yourself have some fun with your art and experiment with new materials!

In this class, you will express your ideas, thoughts, and feelings while exploring ink patterns, collage, painting, paper construction, printing, and found poetry. You will learn how to combine writing and art into a truly visual diary. All abilities are welcome. Come play with us!

Each participant will receive a set of materials for art journaling that are theirs to keep, as well as the opportunity to experiment with a host of shared class supplies. Just bring yourself! (***We recommend wearing old clothes that you don't mind getting a little messy and close-toed shoes. Some classes may include paint, printing ink, glue, and other supplies that can potentially stain or damage clothing. Other classes may include X-Acto knives or other cutting instruments that could potentially harm your feet if wearing sandals, flip-flops, or other open shoes.)

All workshops are held at Main Exhibit Gallery’s fully-accessible Art Center.
Entrance located at the lower level rear of the building at 301 West Main Street, Ligonier, PA.
