Wheel Pottery Open Studio
Registering for multiple dates? Give us a call (724-238-2310) and we can save you the hassle of filling out multiple registration forms!
We designed this Open Studio as a creative outlet for those at the intermediate or advanced level of throwing on the wheel. The Open Studio is a time to let loose and explore your own designs and forms on the potters' wheel, and to interact and share with other experienced potters in a friendly environment. It’s also convenient for those without access to a pottery wheel or kiln. Please note there is no instructor available--this is your opportunity to create at your own pace! We'll have a studio monitor present to answer any questions and assist you in getting clay, tools, etc.
The cost is $25 for CC and $20 for cash/check (payable to Main Exhibit Gallery & Art Center).
To participate in Open Studio you need to:
✓ be proficient at wedging clay;
✓ be proficient at centering clay on the wheel;
✓ be proficient at trimming your pottery; and
✓ have previous experience glazing bisqueware
If you haven’t reached this level yet, don’t worry! We offer beginner classes that can “get you up to speed” on the wheel.
