Richard Hower
Stone Carvings
As an artist, Richard has challenged himself with new ideas through paint and stone. While painting the area landscapes he challenges himself to capture the right light and atmosphere of Gods creation. His acrylic painting, “streams of living water” was purchased by the Greater Latrobe School District. Stone carving has become another path in Richard’s creative search. He finds the process an exciting experience. Carving into a stone reveals its individual character, reminding him of the uniqueness of everything of this world. His carving approach includes ancient techniques with modern technology. His work is currently on display at Phipps Conservatory, Tropical Forest Congo exhibit (Pittsburgh, PA), and at Main Exhibit Gallery & Art Center (Ligonier, PA). |
