What are you doing Wednesday evenings? Why not join us for a clay workshop? Instructor Cray Charlebois will have a variety of projects planned, each one exploring a different ways to form projects out of clay by hand without the pottery wheel.*
Come for one workshop, or sign up for all five. Come alone or do it with friends, a partner or family. Suitable for ages 14 and up (children 9-13 may come with parent accompaniment)
*If you have experience working with clay slabs, you can come up with your own project.

SESSIONS REMAINING JANUARY 2023:
Flower Pot and Garden Markers Wednesday, February 8 5:30-8 pm $40 Using clay slabs instructor Cray Charlebois will show you how to make and embellish a flower pot and several garden markers to identify your lovely plantings. You will select from our available glazes. After the pots dry and are fired, we'll glaze them for you and kiln-fire them once more.

March 1: Slab Dishes
Using templates, you will work with slabs to create 2-3 various dishes and decorate them with underglazes. |
March 8 : Coiled Pot
Contemporary ceramic artists use coils - basically ropes of clay - to create pots without working on the pottery wheel. The coils can be left as a visible textural element, or smoothed out, or a combination of both |
March 15: Pocket Vase or Wrapped Vase
You will work with slabs to create a vase that can hang on a wall or a footed vase that stands alone. |
March 22: Sushi Set
Make your own sushi service for whether you bring home take-out, or make your own! Using clay slabs, you'll make 2 trays, 2 tiny dip bowls and 2 chop stick rests. |
March 29: Slab Sculpture
In this mixed media project, you'll use slabs of clay to make and underglaze shapes. After firing, they will be attached to wooden bases. |

All workshops are held at Main Exhibit Gallery's fully-accessible Art Center located at the
lower level rear of the building at 301 West Main Street, Ligonier, PA.
