Wednesday Clay Workshops

What are you doing on Wednesdays? Why not join us for a clay workshop?  Instructor Cray Charlebois has a variety of fun projects planned, each exploring a different way to form projects out of clay by hand without the pottery wheel. After the glaze-firing, you'll have a fully functional piece of art that is both food safe and waterproof! If you have experience working with clay slabs, feel free to create your own project, as long as it fits in our limited kiln space. Cray has a host of Fall and Winter themed projects on the schedule that you won't want to miss!

Come for one workshop, or try a few! Go solo or do it with friends, a partner, or family. All levels of experience welcome! Suitable for ages 14 and up. (Children 9-13 are welcome to participate if accompanied by a responsible adult.) Registration is required. Click on the links below for more info on each project and/or to register!

All workshops are held at Main Exhibit Gallery's fully-accessible Art Center located at the
lower level rear of the building at 301 West Main Street, Ligonier, PA.

October 4: Cat Plate Trio
Try your hand at slab-building and make a set of 3 Fall-themed small dishes! They're perfect for candy, rings, decorating, and gifting! (The images are just an example of what YOU can create!)
October 11: Small Serving Plate
with Handles
Learn the slab-building method for clay and make a small serving platter with handles just in time for Fall hosting!
October 18: Pinchpot Gourd/Pumpkin
Learn the pinchpot technique and create a decorative gourd or pumpkin just in time for Fall decorating!
October 25: Jack-O-Lantern Votives
Celebrate Halloween while making this Jack-O-Lantern inspired set of two votive candle holders! They also make great pencil holders.
October 18 OR November 1:
Fall-Themed Plate Trio
Try your hand at slab-building and make a set of 3 Fall-themed small dishes! They're perfect for candy, rings, decorating, and gifting! (The images are just an example of what YOU can create!). We're even offering 2 dates for this popular class!
November 8: Leaf Bowl
Learn the art of slab building, impressions, and assembling clay into a stunning and functional leaf centerpiece! Perfect for decorating for Thanksgiving.

Jump into the holidays and learn to work with clay as you make your own set of ceramic ornaments or gift toppers!
December 13: Angel Ornament
Learn to work with clay slabs and impressions as you make this charming angel ornament! Perfect for hanging on a Christmas tree or adding to a wreath or other decor!
November 29: Seussical Trees

Learn to work with clay coiling and make a set of 3 whimsical trees inspired by Dr. Seuss!
December 6: Snowman Votive
Make your own snowman votive(s) as you learn to work with clay slabs! Perfect for decorating all winter long, they also make great gifts!
