Jeanne Wagle is known for her bright and striking florals, as well as her rural landscapes and forest scenes. She has worked at developing the watercolor batik method, which involves the use of hot liquid wax as a resist material and watercolor paint on ginwashi oriental paper, giving her subjects abstract textured qualities.
Jeanne began her watercolor career in Florida after operating her own women's clothing and handbag company for ten years. She now lives and paints from her home studio in Somerset County, PA. She is a member of the Somerset County Artists Assoc. and Laurel Arts, as well as the Community SArt Center of Cambria County, the Latrobe Art Center, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, Greensburg Art Center and Allied Artists of Johnstown. In addition to Main Exhibit Gallery & Art Center, her work is regularly exhibited at The Dressler Art Center in Somerset, as well as numerous juried shows in Western Pennsylvania.
