About the Artist

Mark Steel Soffe started his business in 1979 by designing bracelets and rings. He started showing his jewelry at the Park City Arts Festivals and then began selling it to a store at the local mall. Matt joined him in 1986 and since that time they have taken the business from a garage to a production facility with several talented artists. Through it all, Mark remains the artist, creating and designing jewelry that is both stylish and timeless.

Mark Steel Jewelry is located in Kamas, Utah, a bedroom community just east of Park City, in the shadows of the picturesque Uintah Mountains.

All of their jewelry is handcrafted by trained professionals who take great satisfaction in creating and producing every piece of jewelry in our shop. Whether it is bending, forging, soldering, peening, or smashing, our skilled artisans see each design through from start to finish and take great pride in creating the highest quality jewelry.

About Mark Steel Jewelry Materials

Gold Filled:
Gold-Filled metal is made by bonding gold with another metal. It wears just like 14k gold jewelry, but is a fraction of the price. We never use gold-plated, as it wears off and tends to turn skin green. We have found gold-filled to be the best option for price and quality.
Sterling Silver: Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper.
Mixed Metals: Mix metals is just what the name sounds like, it’s when we use both sterling silver and gold-filled to create a beautiful design.
Niobium: Niobium is very similar to titanium, but it’s much easier to bend and work with, so jewelers love it! Consumers love it too because it is hypoallergenic. We use niobium in a lot our jewelry as accent pieces because it has the ability to be colored in a variety of different ways.
