"Born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to avoid the lure of the steel mill streets, while dreaming of studying science and art in college. Successful in both disciplines, I was awarded a full post-graduate scholarship to study art at the California College of Arts. After receiving my MFA, I began my creative career in San Francisco as a display artist for a collection of small Parisian owned boutiques. It was at the same time that I had a series of one-man shows and was winning awards in the San Francisco Bay Area.
After a brief teaching stint, I made a life changing decision and began a series of career moves, however, succeeding in the business world wasn’t enough. After deep soul searching, I went back to my roots and focused on producing a series of works in the late 2000’s. On that road back, I was further encouraged after winning second place in Mixed Media, on my first try, in a prestigious juried show in San Francisco.
My works represent the lighter side of life and the joy of color. Painting on 300lb hot press paper and canvas allows me to build layers of paint texture, providing the aged quality of underlying figures.
My intent is to lift your spirit and feed your imagination."
