LEARN THE ART OF STAINED GLASS

with Mandy Sirofchuck

Stained Glass Artist

Picture

Artist Mandy Sirofchuck has worked in stained glass since 1984, creating many commissioned windows and panels in both the copper foil (Tiffany) method and leaded panels. Her more recent foray is in painted fired-on stained glass using vitreous paints and a kiln. These paints are finely ground glass with intense metallic oxide pigments that, once fired into the glass, can be used to permanently shade or color the glass pieces. Mandy also creates fused glass pieces, both as large vitri-fusaille panels and popular ornaments.
She offers classes and workshops in fused glass, copper foil and lead techniques.

"My favorite shop in Ligonier...This my go-to place to buy cards and gifts for family and friends. There is not just beautiful art in the gallery but jewelry, trinkets, pottery and more. Something for everyone. I also took the stained glass class in the art center and can't wait to take more. People and atmosphere and especially instruction from Mandy was excellent."

- Dana H.

"Had a terrific time at the Christmas tree stained glass class. Mandy is a wonderful instructor--with tons of patience!!!"

- Linda N.

Try your hand at Mosaics!

Monday, May 19, 5:30-8:30 PM

There are numerous techniques in working with mosaics. Knowing how you will use your mosaic is the first step: is it for an indoor or outdoor application? In this 3-hour workshop, glass artist Mandy Sirofchuck will instruct you in some of the different applications of mosaic art as she guides you through the basics of creating an outdoor glass mosaic garden stone. Ages 14 & Up.

In this class you will learn:
  • Mosaic terminology
  • How to cut glass from a pattern
  • How to lay out cut pieces for application to a substrate
  • How to adhere and grout your design

Your finished piece will be a 12” x 12” x 2” cement garden stone. Your design can be abstract; we will have several simple patterns available for selection. If you have a particular design you’d like to try, it must fit within 11” x 11” and be in a simple outline form, like a child’s coloring book (remember, you have only 3 hours to complete the project!)
Glass, stepping stone and all materials are included.
